“Take care that you do not despise one of these little ones; for, I tell you, in heaven their angels continually see the face of my Father in heaven.” – Matthew 18

Youth Ministry is the response of the Christian Community to the needs of young people and their families fostering their development as Catholic Christians and drawing them into responsible participation in the life, mission and ministry of the Church.

Children’s Programs:

The “L’il Saints” Children’s Liturgy Program will be starting soon at the 11am mass, and possibly the 7:30pm mass too!   If the Spirit is moving you to offer your gifts to share the Gospel story with the children, please contact Jean Beneteau at the parish office.

A few more volunteers will allow us to offer the program at both masses and will allow for the facilitators to serve on a rotating schedule.

The start date is set for October 20th.

Sacrament Preparation:

Assumption Parish will be preparing our young Catholics in Grade 8 for the sacrament of Confirmation during the Autumn season.

There will be an information meeting on Thursday, October 10th, from 6:30pm to 7:30pm in Rooney Lounge at the 711 McEwan Avenue Holy Name of Mary Church site .

All families intending to participate in this year’s preparation and reception of the sacrament of Confirmation are expected to attend.

At this meeting you will be given a schedule of events for this year’s preparation experience. If you have a baptismal certificate at home, it will be helpful for you to bring a copy of it with you to the meeting.

  • Preparation for Reconciliation and First Communion will take place in the spring.
